Cyprus as a permanent stop on the Mediterranean cultural map — a place where international productions of the highest level meet a curious local audience, and where Cypriot artists earn a global stage at home.

To bring the most respected names in world theatre to Cyprus — and to ignite the curiosity of the next generation of Cypriot artists, audiences and producers, so that culture remains a living public good, not a luxury.
From the Founder
Alexander Weinstein
I founded CITF because I saw a gap — Cyprus has world-class venues, a sophisticated multilingual audience, and a young creative class hungry for inspiration. What it didn't yet have was a flagship festival that placed Cypriot stages alongside Paris, Avignon and Edinburgh.
Three seasons in, we have welcomed John Malkovich, Kirill Serebrennikov, Pilobolus, Chulpan Khamatova — and we are now preparing the Cypriot premiere of Cassandre with Fanny Ardant. Each project is built around three loyalties: the artist, the audience, and the city of Limassol.

How this is distributed to sponsors
Reserved for Gold and Platinum tiers — distributed pro-rata to contribution.
Silver sponsors do not appear in the Phileleftheros placement. The €20,000 media value is allocated only between Gold and Platinum, proportionally to each sponsor's cash contribution. This protects the value of the higher tiers and gives Platinum a clearly larger media footprint.
